Poured aluminum, shoe polish, plastic, glass, & pigmented oil 2013 Adopting the foundry technique of lost wax casting, I hand poured aluminum pieces.Referencing the ornamental repoussé technique, I stamped floral patterns into the outer rim of the works. When installed the work leaks pigmented black oil. Working with the industrial nature of the material, I wanted to convey the mechanical nature of the woman’s reproductive system.
