OVARIAN FOLLICLES
Tissue paper, matte medium, plastic tubing, floral beads, plant drainage trays, medical bags, water & wire 2012 This work comments on the woman as the creator. This piece illustrates the ovarian follicle releasing of the ovums. An ovarian follicle is a protective shell that forms around an ovum before it is released into the fallopian tube. When the ovum is released the follicle bursts and is then reabsorbed back into the body. This work is in a way a self portrait of myself, there is 128 follicles which is roughly how many follicles I have gone through so far.
